Who We Are

We're Blazio Renquinthal Architecture, a studio based right here in Toronto at 2847 Queen Street West. We focus on sustainable urban design and contemporary residential work, and yeah, we take your privacy seriously. This document explains how we handle your personal info when you interact with us—whether that's through our website, emails, or when we're working together on a project.

Information We Collect

Look, we're not out here collecting data for fun. We gather what we need to provide our services and keep in touch. This typically includes:

  • Your name, email address, and phone number when you reach out to us
  • Project details you share during consultations—site photos, property info, design preferences
  • Billing information if we're working together on a project
  • Basic website analytics—stuff like which pages you visit, how long you stay, general location data
  • Correspondence records when we email or call back and forth

We don't use any sneaky tracking tech or sell your data to third parties. That's just not our style.

How We Use Your Information

We use what you share with us to actually get work done. Pretty straightforward:

  • Responding to your inquiries and setting up consultations
  • Developing design proposals and project documentation
  • Managing ongoing projects—coordinating with contractors, engineers, municipal offices
  • Sending project updates, invoices, and relevant communications
  • Improving our website and services based on how people use them
  • Complying with legal requirements—building permits, zoning applications, that sort of thing

We won't spam you with marketing emails unless you've specifically asked for updates about our work. And even then, you can opt out anytime.

Sharing Your Information

Sometimes we need to share certain details with others to move a project forward. This might include:

  • Structural engineers, landscape architects, and other consultants working on your project
  • Municipal offices and regulatory bodies for permits and approvals
  • Contractors and builders during construction phases
  • Cloud storage providers who host our project files securely
  • Legal or financial advisors when necessary

Everyone we work with is bound by confidentiality agreements. We don't share your personal info for marketing purposes or sell it to random companies. If you're a client, your project stays between us and the folks who need to know.

Data Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect your information. Our systems use encryption, secure servers, and password protection. Physical documents are stored securely in our studio. That said, no method is 100% foolproof—we're honest about that. We do our best to keep everything locked down, but the internet being what it is, absolute security can't be guaranteed.

If there's ever a data breach that affects you, we'll let you know promptly and work with you to address it.

Data Retention

We keep your information as long as it's needed. For active projects, that means throughout the design and construction process. After completion, we're legally required to retain project documents for at least seven years—that's standard practice in architecture for liability and warranty purposes.

If you've just made an inquiry but didn't proceed with a project, we'll typically keep your contact info for about two years in case you change your mind. After that, it gets deleted unless you've asked us to keep it.

Your Rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you've got rights when it comes to your personal information:

  • You can ask what info we have about you
  • You can request corrections if something's wrong
  • You can ask us to delete your data (with some exceptions for legal requirements)
  • You can withdraw consent for us to use your information in certain ways
  • You can file a complaint with the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you think we've mishandled your data

Just reach out to us at studio@blaziorenquinthal.info or call (416) 555-0147, and we'll sort it out.

Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses basic cookies to function properly—things like remembering your preferences and keeping analytics running. We use Google Analytics to see how people interact with our site, which helps us improve it. These are anonymized and aggregated stats, nothing personally identifiable.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings if you prefer. Some features might not work as smoothly, but the site will still function.

Project Photography and Portfolio Use

We're proud of the work we do and often want to showcase completed projects in our portfolio, on our website, or in publications. Before we photograph or publish any project, we'll get your explicit written consent. You're always in control of how your property is represented.

If you'd prefer to keep your project private, that's totally fine—we respect that. And if you give permission initially but later change your mind, just let us know and we'll remove the images.

Third-Party Links

Our website might link to external sites—supplier catalogs, municipal planning resources, industry organizations. Once you click through to another site, this privacy policy doesn't apply anymore. We're not responsible for how those sites handle your data, so it's worth checking their own privacy policies.

Changes to This Policy

We might update this privacy policy occasionally—usually when laws change or we adjust how we operate. When we make significant changes, we'll post the updated version here and note the revision date at the top. For major changes, we'll email active clients directly.

It's a good idea to check back here now and then, especially if you're concerned about how your info is handled.

Questions or Concerns?

If you've got questions about this privacy policy or how we handle your information, don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help and we'll be straight with you.
